Lancaster Amplification Sound Clip Notes and Details

We realize that in the world of digital audio, that sound clips are really easy to cheat at. However, while we would recommend that you try our products first-hand, sound clips have become a necessary evil in this day and age. We have not put up any L.A.N. product sound clips as there are too many variables involved especially with vocals, where it is tracked, room selection, genre, volume, who is tracking it, where is it in the signal path, etc. As an engineer, however, you should be able to ascertain that they are quality pieces and their true excellence will come through when you actually get your hands on them and hear the quality and inner detail. With the guitar amplifiers and Lancavern reverb, however, we have attempted to give you a taste of the sounds of the amp and how they record.

There have been absolutely no modifications to the recorded signal in tracking or mixing. Each track was a single speaker (except for the bass) that was close-mic'd with a single microphone (the amps obviously sound very different at varying differences, but we felt as if this were a good starting spot to demonstrate how they track). We used the Cascode pre-amp for the instrument tracks and ran them straight into a Tascam 22-4 1/4” open reel four track running at 15 IPS. It was then transferred directly to digital with the only editing occurring the cutting of the excess beginnings and ends cut in Audacity (simple task, simple program). No equalizing, compression, normalizing, or sweetening of any type have been performed. We have kept the original tapes as proof if anyone would like to check (and boy howdy does it sound good on tape...). Additionally, no expensive guitars have been used here, every instrument has a street price on under $1,000. Here are the actual breakdowns of what was used on each clip:
